Principal's Message

Dear Sunset Sockeye Families,

Welcome to Sunset Elementary School!

Sunset is a wonderful community to be a part of. Our staff strives to work hard to support every student every day. We are constantly learning and improving in our craft and have a focus on meeting students where they are and moving them along their learning path. We enjoy sharing the world with students and helping them learn to collaborate and be a positive member of our school community. At Sunset, we live by The Sockeye Way: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe and Be Caring. We believe ALL students can achieve academic and social emotional success at school and in life.

It is our hope that our school website, school communication and your student’s classroom communication will provide important information to help you navigate being a Sunset Sockeye and have a successful learning experience this year. We encourage your active participation in our community. Together, we will provide your student with a safe, nurturing and inspiring educational experience. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our staff if you have concerns, questions or suggestions to share.

In partnership,

LeAnn Tuupo
Principal

I acknowledge that I am on the Indigenous Land of Coast Salish people who have reserved treaty rights to this land, specifically the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe (sdukʷalbixʷ) and Duwamish (dxʷdəwʔabš). I thank these caretakers of this land who have lived and continue to live here since time immemorial.
