Sunset Elementary Teacher-Librarian Chrissie Wright delights students during story time with a fuzzy yellow chicken puppet named “Book.”
Wright said when she isn’t in the library, she is at home on her farm where she has 32 chickens! She explains that the 'bawk' sound chickens make really sound like “book, book, book” and that’s how she named the library chicken.
“Students look forward to their turn to hold Book during the library lesson/story. It's a fun way to add a sprinkle of whimsy and delight to class library visits,” shares Wright.
