Sunset kicked off the school year with a super fun fundraiser, Sunset's Orange Ruler Jogathon.
The students and sunset community raised $40,000 in two weeks to help fund all the exciting things the PTA does for Sunset.
The top 10 classes that brought in the most money then participated in a pig race that happened right after each grade levels run.
First grader Anishka P. said her favorite part of the fun run was watching the pig race. The 2nd and 3rd place classes that brought in the most money also earned a popsicle party, pizza party and the top class that brought in the most money got the opportunity to spray Principal LeAnn Tuupo and Assistant Principal Patti Foryan with silly string during a recent assembly.
Jennifer P., 4th grade teacher, said it was fun to have the jogathon back this year, the PTA made it super easy to participate and the kids really enjoyed the fun run.
