Sunset Students Race, Hop and Dance Through Field Day

Students play tug-of-war on tires

Sunset Elementary students celebrated the end of the school year with an exciting afternoon outside at their field day put on by PE teacher Shelley Thomas and PTA volunteers. Students from each grade level wore different color shirts to celebrate the day, like kindergarten with yellow and 5th graders wore their 5th grade shirt and collected signatures from staff and students outside. All students were able to do different activities such as fastball throw, gunny sack races, bowling bonanza, three legged race and hurdles. 1st grader Affi shared his favorite field day activity was the hippity hop race. Music teacher Marie Bean kept the fun rolling with lots of great music, even having some of the 5th graders perform their achy breaky dance they have been learning in music. Field day ended with otter pops for the classrooms. It was a great afternoon of fun for all!
